The world is suffering from the spread of the novel coronavirus. Drastic measures have been taken to stem the spread of this virus. In some countries, public life has already come to a standstill.
More and more information is reaching us about cancelled events and congresses. The DOG has already been directly affected by the cancellation of the AAD congress and its yearly Basic Course of Ophthalmology.
According to the experts, the worst is still to come and it is not yet possible to predict when the situation will ease again. Considering the responsibility and also the role model function the DOG has for participants, patients but also for the entire public, the Executive Board of the DOG consults regularly and intensively on the current situation and – last but not least – the upcoming DOG congress. Taking into account all the information currently available, a final decision would be premature at this stage. For this reason, the preparations for the DOG Congress 2020 continue. We will inform you about further decisions without delay. In the meantime, we hope that you remain healthy and that all together we will overcome this crisis.
Abstracts for scientific lectures, posters and videos for the DOG Congress 2020 can be submitted until 14.4.2020 at 10.00 a.m. CEST.
